Experience a totally new way of living in nature
Boribo House is a unique accommodation designed for a family or small group of close friends who want to connect with nature without sacrificing on comfort.
It is "enclosed" by hectares of private (fenced) land with old trees providing privacy. Instead of dangerous wildlife you will enjoy watching our cows grazing and a large variety of tropical birds who have discovered the tranquility of our property and its surrounding nature.
The house is totally open on 3 sides, which gives you the feeling of being outside even though the roof and the back of the house provide shelter.
In the center of the ground floor is the master bedroom, an extra large king-sized bed with decorative mosquito curtains and two impressive Dalle De Verre windows made from recycled glass.
To one side is the spacious bathroom with a walk-in shower that offers a view over the farm and the sunset between the coconut palm trees.
Our toilet voted “the most luxurious composting toilet I have seen”. Instead of producing problematic waste, our toilets produce fertilizer for our reforestation efforts and there is nothing you need to do, in fact you need to do less than usual because you don’t need to flush. Next to the toilet is a bidet.
To the other side of the bedroom is the kitchen, comprising of a small gas stove, fridge, sink and lots of cupboards to store both food and utensils.
A circular sitting area in the entrance area, partially covered by a makuti-roof, invites to have a seat, take a deep breath and absorb the atmosphere.
If it gets too hot, the natural pool invites you to take a dip and relax on one of the large steps inside the water. Our plunge-pool has a biological filter without any chemicals.
At the top of the stylish staircase you will find an open roof terrace with a wonderful view over the farm. Especially at night, the large pillows filled with kapok (a cotton-like fibre harvested from our own trees) and a low coffee table create one of the coolest and most impressive places to be. On a clear, moonless night, the abundance of the stars will leave you in awe.
There are two “cottages”, basically round makuti-roofs on pillars that accommodate a large king-sized bed and a chest-high wall offers a bit of privacy to those sleeping there.
An open-sky shower, a bathroom with composting toilet and bidet as well as a storage room round up the top floor.
